The Larry Reedy Scholarship  was established in 1982 by our past president Larry Reedy, who received the A.T. Cross Community Action Award. His prize money was donated to The Community Players and initiated our scholarship fund. To date The Community Players has awarded more than $40,000 in scholarships.

This annual $1,500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior who will be pursuing a degree in the performing arts or the technical performing arts (e.g., lighting, design, etc.) and resides or attends school in the Blackstone Valley (Pawtucket, Central Falls, Lincoln, Cumberland, Smithfield, North Smithfield, Burrillville, Glocester, Woonsocket, East Providence, Seekonk or Attleboro), or has at any time worked in some capacity with The Community Players.

The Larry Reedy Scholarship is awarded on the basis of the applicant’s talent and ability in his/her area of the arts; their academic status, and the financial need of the applicant.  The scholarship will be awarded without prejudice as to sex, race, creed, orientation and/or national origin.
