The Community Players present ‘It’s Only A Play’

PAWTUCKET, RI –Rhode Island’s oldest community theater, The Community Players, currently celebrating their 101st season, is proud to present Terrance McNally’s irreverent comedy It’s Only A Play, from February 17 – February 26th, 2023.

A wealthy first-time Broadway producer, Julia Budder, is throwing an opening night party for The Golden Egg at her luxurious Manhattan home. The playwright, Peter Austin, is joined by the genius director Frank Finger, the doped-up diva of a lead actress Virginia Noyes, his television star best friend James Wicker, lethal drama critic Ira Drew, and the fresh-off-the-bus coat check attendant Gus P. Head, on his first night in Manhattan.

It’s Only A Play is a raunchy, ridiculous and occasionally tender look at the world of Broadway and Theater Artists that proves that sometimes the biggest laughs happen offstage.

Directed by Jacob Fournier of East Providence with Assistant Director LA Busteed of Coventry, and featuring the talents of Matthew Corbett of Attleboro, Mike Schnoor of North Attleboro, Meredith Johnson of North Attleboro, Laura Ash of Cumberland, Daniel Thompson of Coventry, Michael Ferron of Fall River, and Terry Shea of North Kingstown.
